Recently the general manager of the Hashoo hotel group in Dubai, Jeffrey Scott Sussman is now a consultant for Tanpopo Hospitality in New York City. Jeffrey Scott Sussman leverages some three decades of hotel experience in locations ranging from Hawaii and India to Cambodia and Japan.
Mr. Sussman began his career with front-office positions in 1988 at the Holiday Inn Tokyo and the Four Seasons hotel in New York. He assumed leadership responsibilities at four Ritz-Carlton hotels, building a relationship with his favorite boss, the chain’s chief executive offer, Herve Humler.
Building a reputation for improving his hotels’ financial situations, Mr. Sussman frequently enhanced their gross operating profit. For example, at the the Leela Kempinski, he boosted it from 37 percent to 52 percent while managing a labor force of 800.
Mr. Sussman’s work has taken him far and wide. A partial list of his postings includes the Ritz-Carlton Osaka, Japan, the Leela Kempinski in Mumbai, India, and the beach resort, the Intercontinental Hua Hin.
In addition to winning three awards for quality service, Mr. Sussman also helped coordinate accommodations for President Bill Clinton’s 1998 visit to Shanghai. In his spare time, he enjoys athletic activities such as bike riding, running, and rock climbing.
